Alexander technique - Just like an instrument, the human body needs to be tuned. Music in sound reflects everything that breathing, movement, and coordinated use of the body allows at the given moment. The Alexander technique is a unique movement re-education method, which helps instrumental and vocal performers to notice and consciously recognize their mental and physical habits that may hinder them from playing freely and playing instruments. The aim of the individual/group session is to release the unnecessary muscle tension created by the body use and habits related to the instrument and singing technique with the tools of the Alexander technique. This results in better sound and more precise techniques that are in harmony with the whole body. Consequently, problems arising from holding the instrument can be prevented. Liberation from inhibiting posture patterns and reorganization of movements gives us the opportunity to make self-reflective, freely constructive decisions from moment to moment.

Nikoletta Földessy - Alexander Technique Teacher, Somatic Instructor, Pető method
She’s been teaching Alexander technique and other body-consciousness techniques and experiential anatomy for almost ten years. During her music school studies, she was a member of the Hungarian Radio Children's Choir and the folk dance and classical ballet department of the Rajkó Art Foundation. She worked with the founder of the Ballet Company of Győr, Iván Markó; as a child actor she also appeared in the productions of the Ballet Company of Győr. She laid the foundations of her studies in motor physiology during the development of children with nervous system impairment (Pető method), which she later began to integrate into her work together with the viewpoints of somatic-based body awareness development methods. She continued her practical work as a dance and movement teacher in a secondary public education institution and in private tutoring.
