Oross Veronika

Veronika Oross, DLA, is professor of flute at the Liszt Academy of Music in Budapest and head of the Woodwind Programme at its Doctoral School.

Her artistic career is marked by an extensive concert activity, prominent orchestral engagements, and acclaimed recordings: both her repertoire and recordings feature solo pieces, chamber music, and concertos, including Mozart’s Concerto for Flute and Harp and contemporary Hungarian works such as Iván Madarász’s Flute Concerto.

For several decades, she served as principal flutist of the MÁV Symphony Orchestra; in addition, she performs regularly with chamber ensembles and appears as a soloist. She has collaborated with distinguished artists such as Charles Dutoit, Iván Fischer, Sir Georg Solti, Irwin Hoffman, James Levine, Yehudi Menuhin, Yuri Simonov, Ken-Ichiro Kobayashi, Zoltán Kocsis, Ida Haendel, Itzhak Stern, András Schiff, Kiri Te Kanawa, Zoltán Kocsis, Gidon Kremer, Shlomo Mintz, José Carreras, Martha Argerich, Maxim Vengerov, Mischa Maisky, Plácido Domingo, Steven Iserlis, J.P. Rampal, György Pauk, Luciano Pavarotti, Miklós Perényi, and Tamás Vásáry.

Her pedagogical work is internationally recognized: her students have achieved outstanding success in international competitions. Several of them have been awarded the Junior Prima Prize, and many have won positions in leading symphony orchestras, including the European Union Youth Orchestra (EUYO).

Through her teaching and masterclasses, she has had a significant impact on younger generations of flutists, while remaining an active presence on both the Hungarian and international concert scene as a soloist and chamber musician.
