The aim of the course is the conscious development of sight-reading (prima vista) skills, which constitute a fundamental element of a pianist’s everyday work. Confident and fluent score reading not only makes the learning process more efficient, but is also essential in chamber music and accompaniment.
The course is designed to enable participants to perform musical material at first sight while consciously developing their score-reading abilities. During the sessions, students will acquire practical techniques that facilitate the quick and efficient learning of new pieces.
Through musical materials of various styles and levels of difficulty, the course develops responsiveness, anticipation, and musical thinking. Particular emphasis is placed on continuity in performance, rhythmic stability, and the immediate recognition of musical character.
The course is recommended for students who wish to improve their sight-reading skills and gain greater confidence in the rapid assimilation of new musical material.
No prior preparation is required for this course.
