Vocal competition

Young Musicians' Summer Academy and Conservatory Foundation announce a one-round contemporary vocal competition in memoriam of Emil Petrovics, which will be held on 17 July, 2023. The competition is open for all, not for the participants of Young Musicians’ Summer Academy only.

AGE LIMIT:
Singers born between 1993–2004

Singers may apply in Three CATEGORies:
Category I:   singers born between 1999 – 2004
Category II:  singers born between 1993 – 1998
Category III: singers born between 1993 – 2004, vocal music of 20–21th century with chamber music accompaniment

First prize of categories: 100 000 HUF

Repertoire

Category I–II:

  • Compulsory: 1 song or aria composed by Emil Petrovics or by a composer studied under him, at contestant’s choice
  • Free choice: 1 contemporary song or aria at contestant’s choice

Category III:

  • 1 elective contemporary song or aria with chamber music accompaniment (max. 5–6 instruments)

Piano accompanist

Piano accompanists are provided by the competition upon request for a fee of 5000 HUF including one rehearsal session and one competition performance.
For participants of Young Musicians’ Summer Academy the piano accompanist is provided free of charge.
